Ibrahim & Julie Elaraoud Scholarship in Medicine

Awarded to a full-time student in the Doctor of Medicine Program at the Memorial Regional Campus located at the University of Prince Edward Island, who has demonstrated a commitment to providing outstanding patient care, and who plans to practice medicine in Prince Edward Island upon completion of their degree. Dr. Ibrahim Elaraoud is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retinal specialist who moved to Prince Edward Island in 2019. He graduated from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in 2005 and worked in London, UK, prior to moving to the Island. Dr. Elaraoud was an early supporter of the creation of a medical school at UPEI and created this award as a way to promote his support for medical learners and his belief in the importance of medical education in Prince Edward Island.
