About this opportunity
The International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) provides funding opportunities for research workshops in the mathematical sciences. These workshops are designed to contribute to the development of mathematical sciences by establishing new applications or creating links between established areas of mathematics. The programme aims to maximise impact in the UK and beyond by ensuring participation from younger researchers and those active in the UK community. Workshops are typically five days in duration and require at least 12 months planning time. ICMS provides financial support for travel and subsistence costs for participants, with a particular focus on supporting diversity and inclusion, including provisions for people with caring responsibilities. The workshops should be timely, have clear objectives, and demonstrate expected outcomes such as new collaborations or research papers. Applications are assessed annually by the Programme Committee, with proposals considered in July each year. The programme is supported by EPSRC, Heriot-Watt University, and the University of Edinburgh.
