About this opportunity
To pay tribute to the life and work of Aunty Ida, the Department of Health and Human Services administers an annual Scholarship in her name. The Ida West Aboriginal Health Scholarship provides financial assistance to Aboriginal students completing a formal qualification at university or vocational education (such as TAFE) in a health and or human services related field. This scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are residents of Tasmania or intending to move to Tasmania to commence study in health or human services related undergraduate courses. Priority is given to applicants intending to study in Tasmania, or interstate if the qualification is not available in Tasmania. The scholarship provides approximately $15,000 in total financial assistance to support full-time students completing accredited courses under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
