About this opportunity
The IEEE Computer Society offers a comprehensive program of scholarships and awards designed to celebrate student achievements in computing. Each year, the organization provides up to USD $40,000 in scholarships and awards to promising students of computer science and engineering. The program includes multiple award categories: the Richard E. Merwin Scholarship which rewards active student volunteer leaders in student branches or chapters who show promise in their academic and professional efforts; the Lance Stafford Larson Paper Contest which encourages students to develop excellence in communication skills and achievement in computer science; the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society award given to computing students for academic excellence; and the Outstanding Student Chapter Award recognizing members who have made exceptional contributions to technical and societal activities.
The Scholarship Outreach Initiative (SOI) Committee supports these programs by bringing together student volunteers to promote and increase awareness of scholarships offered by IEEE Computer Society. The committee also helps connect past winners with current aspirants to guide and support them through the application process, creating a mentorship network for aspiring applicants.
