About This Opportunity

The Imperial College London and China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship program is a collaborative initiative offering doctoral study opportunities for Chinese students. This scholarship provides comprehensive financial support for PhD research across multiple departments at Imperial College London. The program aims to support outstanding Chinese scholars pursuing research-based doctoral degrees, with the expectation that successful candidates will return to China for two years after completing their PhD. Each scholarship covers overseas tuition fees, a maintenance allowance equivalent to Imperial's minimum stipend, and one economy class return journey to China. The program is open to both new PhD applicants and students in their first year of PhD study at Imperial, with 15 awards available for the 2025/2026 academic year. For new applicants, scholarships support 3 years of PhD study, or 4 years in certain cases where a one-year postgraduate degree is required before beginning the PhD. For students in their first year of PhD study at Imperial (October 2024 start), scholarships will support two years of study. Applicants must hold a PR Chinese passport (excluding Hong Kong and Taiwan residents), demonstrate strong academic background, and meet English language requirements by the specified deadline.
