About This Opportunity
The Improving Access Fund aims to advance equality for disabled people by supporting peer-led initiatives that align with the social model of disability. The fund will enable financial support for disabled households, promote full inclusion and participation, and improve mental health outcomes for disabled people. This funding opportunity is focused on supporting the delivery of the Scottish Government's Disability Equality Plan which was co-produced with Disabled People's Organisations. The fund will invest in organisations led by disabled people or that demonstrate strong lived-experience leadership and accountability to advance existing work in three key areas: increasing financial security for disabled people through advice and support to access benefits and entitlements; supporting disabled people's full inclusion and participation and embedding disabled people's voices in shaping decisions that affect them; and improving disabled people's mental health by expanding peer-led accessible mental health support. Funding is available for the delivery of activities from April 2026 to March 2027, managed by Inspiring Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government.
