About This Opportunity

The Indigenous Accommodation Scholarship is offered by La Trobe University to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with safe, secure and affordable housing. This scholarship provides a guaranteed place in La Trobe's accommodation facilities across all their campuses, along with financial support to cover any gap remaining after Rent Assistance. The scholarship is available to students studying at any level, whether full-time or part-time, across any area of study at La Trobe University. To be eligible, applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted as such by the community in which they live or formerly lived. Students must have applied for admission or be currently enrolled in a degree at La Trobe University and be residing or intending to reside at one of the university's residential accommodation facilities. The scholarship aims to remove barriers to education by ensuring Indigenous students have access to stable housing throughout their studies. Interested students should complete an online enquiry form, after which a representative from La Trobe's Indigenous Education and Student Services will make contact. The scholarship was open from August 23, 2023, and closed on December 31, 2024. The value of the scholarship may vary depending on individual circumstances.
