About this opportunity
The Commonwealth of Australia provides funds under the Indigenous Student Success Program to improve higher education access, encourage Indigenous people to undertake an undergraduate course or an approved postgraduate course at The University of Western Australia and increase higher education participation and success for Indigenous people. This scholarship is specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from regional or remote areas of Australia who are experiencing financial hardship. The scholarship supports students who have not completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent (unless it is a prerequisite for their current study), and who are enrolled in undergraduate courses, graduate diplomas, or approved postgraduate courses at the University of Western Australia. Selection is based on academic achievement (ATAR or equivalent) and educational disadvantage, which may include factors such as distance, economic disadvantage, cultural differences, disability, medical conditions, or caring responsibilities. The scholarship provides approximately $20,000 over three years of study.
