About This Opportunity

The Indigenous Commonwealth Education Scholarship provides up to $6,000 per year for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate by coursework programs at RMIT University. The scholarship is specifically designed to support Indigenous Australian students who can demonstrate financial hardship (such as receiving government-tested low income benefits or holding a Centrelink Health Care Card) or who are relocating or have relocated from rural/regional areas to study in Melbourne within the last four years. Students must be able to provide proof of their Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent to the Ngarara Willim Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples if selected. The scholarship provides financial support throughout the duration of the program, with a total approximate value of $24,000. Eligible students can also apply for ongoing accommodation support via the Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship, and additional services and financial support may be available through the Ngarara Willim Centre.
