About this opportunity
The Information Technology Indigenous Study Support Scholarship is an Achieving Potential Support Scholarship offered by Monash University to reward Indigenous Australians interested in studying an IT degree at the undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) level. The scholarship is valued at up to $15,000 and is designed to support students from defined educational disadvantage groups. Current Monash students in the Faculty of IT may also apply.
To be eligible, applicants must be commencing or continuing undergraduate or graduate (coursework) students in the Faculty of Information Technology at a Monash Campus in Australia, be Indigenous Australian, and be able to provide a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate or certified Statutory Declaration. Additionally, students must belong to one or more educational disadvantage groups including low income, recent refugees, students from regional or remote areas, those with disabilities or medical conditions, non-English speaking backgrounds, those who have experienced difficult circumstances, students from underrepresented schools, or those from low socioeconomic status areas.
The scholarship is awarded based on need with preference given to commencing students. Two scholarships are offered. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance as determined by the Faculty of Information Technology to retain the scholarship.
