About This Opportunity

The International Family Award is a tuition fee reduction scholarship offered by Aberystwyth University to new international students who have a family connection to the university. This award recognizes the strong bonds between the university and its alumni families, particularly those where generations have followed in their relatives' footsteps to complete their degrees at Aberystwyth. The scholarship provides a £1,000 reduction in tuition fees for every year of study for eligible international students. To qualify, applicants must be new international students paying international tuition fees, and must have a family relative who studied or is currently studying a degree at Aberystwyth University. Eligible family relationships include parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, or children. The award is designed to encourage family legacy at the university while providing meaningful financial support to international students. Applicants must submit their university application directly (without using education agents), accept their offer, and then submit a separate award application by September 1st with details of their relative who studied at Aberystwyth. The International Family Award can be combined with the International Accommodation Award but cannot be combined with most other awards or scholarships. Students in receipt of full external sponsorship are not eligible, though those with educational loans may still apply.
