About this opportunity

The International Postdoc Grant within Development Research provides support for newly qualified researchers with a doctoral degree from a Swedish university to expand their networks and competences by working abroad under secure employment conditions. The grant is intended to promote the quality and renewal of Swedish research and is funded by the Government's development aid funds. The research must be of particular relevance to the fight against poverty and for sustainable development in low income countries. Recipients must spend at least two thirds of the grant period abroad, with at least one third in a low income or lower middle income country. The grant provides standard funding of 1,150,000 SEK per year for 18-36 months, covering salary, housing during the stay abroad, additional costs coverage, and research expenses up to 150,000 SEK. An additional 50,000 SEK may be applied for accompanying family members. The program requires employment by a Swedish higher education institution throughout the grant period and aims to develop researchers' international networks and scientific independence while contributing knowledge relevant to poverty reduction and sustainable development in low-income countries.
