About This Opportunity

The International Postgraduate Coursework Completion Scholarship provides financial assistance to international students in their final semester of a postgraduate coursework degree at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney. The scholarship is specifically designed for students who can demonstrate they are experiencing significant financial hardship and are unable to pay their final semester of course fees. Applicants must have a reasonable expectation of completing their degree within the next six months. The scholarship has a maximum value of $15,000 for up to one semester, with the exact value outlined in the successful recipient's Scholarship Offer Letter. The scholarship value will be paid as a one-off payment after the applicable census date. Recipients are selected based on academic merit, demonstrated financial hardship, and a personal statement detailing their financial circumstances and how the scholarship will assist them in completing their degree. This is a non-deferrable, non-transferable scholarship that cannot be suspended. The scholarship may be terminated if the recipient withdraws from their course, fails to maintain satisfactory academic performance, or is found guilty of serious misconduct. The scholarship is subject to the availability of funds and is awarded by a selection committee consisting of the Associate Dean of Postgraduate Programs and at least two academics from the Postgraduate Coursework Sub-Committee.
