About this opportunity
The International School-Leaver Excellence Scholarship is designed to attract high-achieving international school leaver students who are wanting to study in New Zealand at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and to support them in their studies. The scholarship provides $20,000 over three years of study to international full-fee paying students who have completed at least two full years at a New Zealand secondary school and are enrolling in their first year of their first undergraduate degree. Recipients must have NCEA Level 2 (or 3 if taken in Year 12) endorsed with Excellence or equivalent in another qualification. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and includes guaranteed accommodation at University Halls of Residence if applications are received by 1 October. The scholarship is comprised of $10,000 for the first year of study, and a further $5,000 for the second and third years of study, provided a Grade Point Average of 7 (A- average) is maintained. Recipients are expected to act as Ambassadors for Victoria University of Wellington and participate in appropriate events or marketing activities if requested.
