International School-Leaver Excellence Scholarship

The International School-Leaver Excellence Scholarship is designed to attract and support high-achieving international school-leavers who wish to study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. The scholarship provides $10,000 NZD towards tuition fees in the second year of study. To be eligible, applicants must be international full-fee paying students who have completed at least two full years (Year 12 and Year 13) at a New Zealand secondary school. Applicants must be enrolling in their first year of their first undergraduate degree and must have NCEA Level 2 (or 3 if taken in Year 12) endorsed with Excellence or equivalent qualification. Scholarships are awarded competitively based on academic merit. Recipients must maintain a Grade Point Average of 6 (B+ average) and study full-time (at least 120 points per year) to retain the scholarship. This scholarship may be held in conjunction with the VUW Undergraduate International Scholarship, which awards $15,000 towards tuition fees in the first year of study. All recipients are guaranteed an offer of a place in university Halls of Residence if their accommodation application is received by 1 October.
