International Sports Scholarship Programme

The University of Stirling's International Sports Scholarship Programme is one of the largest high-performance sports programmes in the UK. Since its inception in 1981, it has supported more than 700 student athletes, sending athletes to Olympic, World and Commonwealth Games. The programme provides talented student athletes with the ideal environment to develop and flourish in their chosen sport through expert support and world-class facilities on the scenic Stirling campus. Scholarships are available to students competing in core sports (football, golf, swimming, tennis, triathlon, curling) and other sports if at an international level, particularly those featured in BUCS, Commonwealth, Olympic or Paralympic programmes. Students receive funding support, academic flexibility, national standard coaching, essential equipment and the opportunity to stay on campus, helping them fulfil their potential while pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate degrees.
