About This Opportunity

The Swedish Research Council offers an international postdoctoral grant for researchers who have recently obtained their PhD from a Swedish university. The purpose of the grant is to give newly graduated researchers the opportunity to expand their network and competence by working abroad under secure employment conditions. The grant should also reward the quality and renewal of Swedish research. The fellowship provides funding for 18-36 months for postdoctoral research conducted primarily at a foreign host institution, while maintaining employment at a Swedish institution. Recipients must spend at least two-thirds of the grant period at the foreign host institution. The grant amounts to 1,300,000 SEK per year, with an additional 50,000 SEK available for accompanying family members. The funding covers salary, housing during the stay abroad, cost of living adjustments, and up to 150,000 SEK per year for research-related costs such as equipment, consumables, and publication costs.
