About this opportunity

Interreg Aurora is a new cross-border cooperation program within the European Interreg community for 2021-2027. The program provides significant opportunities for new and exciting collaboration in border areas between Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Sápmi. The overall goal of the Interreg Aurora program is to contribute to collaboration across national borders, thereby strengthening the program area's competitiveness, sustainability, and attractiveness through social inclusion, digitalization, and green transition. The program supports collaboration projects in four main areas: (1) Smart and sustainable growth through smart specialization, research and innovation, and increased competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises, (2) Green and sustainable transition including climate change adaptation, nature conservation and biodiversity, and sustainable mobility, (3) Education, culture and sustainable tourism, and (4) Better and more sustainable cross-border cooperation through capacity building across borders. The program has seven focus areas with potential to create synergies within smart specialization strategies, building stronger business communities based on the regions' natural advantages.
