About This Opportunity
The Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship Program (IIODS) provides financial support to help cover the cost of postsecondary education or training for eligible students. Recipients receive $4,000 to cover tuition fees and school-related expenses for full-time postsecondary education or training. The scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers to higher education for young residents of Toronto Community Housing and the Scadding Court Community Centre catchment area. In addition to funding, recipients take part in personal enrichment sessions, network with TCHC partners, and gain access to job postings and job readiness support. The program awards between 30 to 60 scholarships annually depending on donor contributions. Up to $3,500 of the scholarship funding is sent directly to the university or training institution for tuition fees, while $500 is sent directly to the student via cheque. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, aged 29 or younger, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship supports students attending colleges, universities, career academies, apprenticeships, or recognized trade schools, both in Canada and internationally.
