About this opportunity
The IODE Prince Edward Island Provincial Chapter Award is a scholarship awarded annually to a full-time PEI resident entering second year at the University of Prince Edward Island. The award is based on academic achievement and financial need. The Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (IODE) was formed in 1900 as a volunteer women's organization supporting troops during the Boer War in Africa. Over the years, the organization evolved to focus on citizenship, education, and charitable services programs across Canada. In 1987, the PEI Provincial Chapter arranged to offer this annual scholarship through UPEI. Since September 2011, UPEI has directly overseen the management of this scholarship, which continues the organization's commitment to supporting education in Prince Edward Island.
