About This Opportunity

The Iremonger Marceau Family Scholarship is a scholarship to support full-time coursework or research students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney. Established in 2023 and funded by the estate of the late Felicity Jane Marceau, this scholarship is designed to assist students undertaking both undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Conservatorium. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, personal statement, demonstrated evidence of disadvantage, and/or portfolio and performance. For postgraduate research applicants, research achievements and potential may also be considered. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Head of School and Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. For merit-based awards, no application is required as students are automatically considered as part of their admission application. For equity scholarships, students must apply separately when applications are open. Applications for Semester 1 typically open in February, and Semester 2 applications may open in August subject to available funding. Coursework students receive payment in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester, while postgraduate research students receive a stipend paid fortnightly. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance and meet ongoing eligibility requirements to continue receiving the scholarship.
