Isabel Munroe Smith Memorial Scholarship

The Isabel Munroe Smith Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time female student who was originally admitted to the University of Alberta as a nonmatriculated applicant and who is a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. The scholarship honors the memory of Isabel Munroe Smith, a pioneer social worker and former Dean of Women at the University of Alberta. Selection is made on the basis of superior academic achievement. This endowed scholarship was established by friends of the University of Alberta to recognize exceptional students who began their academic journey as nonmatriculated students and have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. Recipients are automatically considered based on their completed General Application to the University of Alberta. The scholarship provides financial support to continuing students who meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate academic excellence.
