About this opportunity
In support of scholarship on Italian art and architecture, the Italian Art Society (IAS) offers an annual book prize awarded for the year's best book in Italianist art history. The prize recognizes outstanding single-authored monographs that make significant contributions to the field of Italian art history. Books are juried by an anonymous premi committee of senior scholars, whose membership changes annually. The prize winner is announced at the annual business meeting at the College Art Association (CAA) conference. Eligible books must be published in Italian or English, have a publication date in the year prior to application, and the author must be a member of IAS for both the year of application and the year of award. This prize supports and celebrates scholarly excellence in the study of Italian art and architecture from prehistory to the present.
