About This Opportunity

The Ivan Roberts Scholarship provides $50,000 in support for students who have completed or are about to complete their Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor at the University of Sydney to pursue postgraduate study. This scholarship was established from a bequest by the late Ivan Roberts to create an annual scholarship for a student of the Sydney Law School who attains the highest pass at graduation for postgraduate study at an approved institution. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, curriculum vitae, and personal statements demonstrating leadership experience, communication skills, personal interests, community engagement, and commitment to applying their postgraduate learning to make a positive difference to professional and/or legal practice. Recipients must be enrolling in a postgraduate coursework or research degree within the Sydney Law School or equivalent approved institution. For University of Sydney students, the scholarship may be paid as a one-off payment (for international students or research students) or in two equal instalments over one year (for domestic coursework students). For students enrolling at approved institutions outside the University of Sydney, the amount is paid as a one-off payment upon proof of enrolment. The scholarship is tenable for up to one year for domestic coursework students at the University of Sydney.
