About This Opportunity

The IWSH (International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation) Scholarship Essay Contest is an annual competition that aims to acquaint students with the crucial importance the plumbing industry plays in everyday lives. Students are invited to write essays on topics related to water access, safe sanitation, and plumbing infrastructure. The 2026 topic asks students to explore why government and private sector partnerships are essential for providing improved access to safe sanitation, considering how these collaborations can overcome challenges, implement innovative solutions, and create stronger communities. The contest is open to high school seniors, full-time students in technical schools, community colleges, trade schools, apprentice programs, and undergraduate students at four-year accredited colleges and universities. International students are welcome to participate.
