About this opportunity
The J. Barrie Thomson Scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering the first year of studies leading to the LL.B. degree at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. The scholarship was established by Mr. J. Barrie Thomson in memory of Garth Stuart Thomson and Stuart Alexander Thomson, and the Thomson family in memory of J. Barrie Thomson. Mr. J. Barrie Thomson, B.A. '47, LL.B. '60, LL.M. '64 (Harvard), was a former faculty member of the College of Law. Selection is based on academic achievement with a minimum second-class or B standing, and demonstrated past and continuing interest in the area of Agriculture, either through previous university-level study or through practical experience gained by farming. This unique scholarship bridges the fields of law and agriculture, recognizing students who bring agricultural knowledge and experience to their legal studies.
