About this opportunity
The J. David Hoeveler Merit Scholarship is awarded to declared History majors at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee who have taken at least 12 credits in History with demonstrated academic excellence. Qualified applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, junior standing, and be enrolled full-time. The scholarship is valued at $5,000 per year and may be renewable for one additional year if the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria. This scholarship is funded through a generous gift from history professor J. David Hoeveler. Students are automatically considered for this award if they have an up-to-date Panther Scholarship Portal General Application and the College of Letters & Science Scholarships and Awards Application completed in spring each year. No additional or separate application is required. Awards are announced in spring for the following school year, so students graduating that same spring or summer are not eligible.
