About this opportunity
The J. N. Derbyshire Trust supports people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire by making grants to community and voluntary groups who work to improve their communities. The Trust was established in September 1944 by Job Nightingale Derbyshire, a prominent Chartered Accountant who practised for many years in Nottingham. Grants are available for Nottinghamshire-based project costs under four key themes: promotion of health, development of physical improvement, advancement of education, and relief of poverty, distress and sickness. The Trust does not actively fundraise and seeks to continue the philanthropic work desired by the donor through the careful stewardship of its existing resources. The Trust only makes grants to registered charities or companies (CIC/CIO) who operate on a not for profit basis with at least 2 years of accounts. Nationally operated charities with reported income of more than £1 million will not be considered.
