J. Scott Fleming Merit Award

Established in 1985, the J. Scott Fleming Merit Award is a cash award recognizing student leaders at the University at Buffalo. The award was created through student fundraising initiatives led by the University Student Alumni Board, now known as the Future Alumni Network. This merit award recognizes full-time undergraduate or graduate students whose leadership in extracurricular and volunteer activities has promoted student involvement and enhanced the student experience at UB. Paid positions and internships are not considered for this award. Finalists may be interviewed as part of the selection process. The application opens in August with a deadline of October 1 for submission of all required components. Award recipients are selected and announced in January.
