James Alexander Bryce (Sandy) Burgess Memorial Award

The James Alexander Bryce (Sandy) Burgess Memorial Award is presented to students with satisfactory academic standing enrolled in any year of a Juris Doctor degree in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. The award recognizes and supports students who have demonstrated exceptional qualities of courage and resolve in overcoming significant personal obstacles while pursuing their law degree. Established in 1971 through endowed funds contributed by classmates, teachers, and other friends of the late Mr. JAB Burgess, LLB '67, this memorial award honors his companionship and exemplary character.
