James & Aune Nelson Minority Grant

The James & Aune Nelson Minority Grant provides scholarship support for minority SIUE students. This grant is specifically designed for graduates of Alton secondary schools who identify as minority students (Black, Hispanic, or Native American). Recipients must demonstrate financial need and maintain academic standards throughout their enrollment. The grant may be used for tuition and fees or other college costs but cannot exceed the student's total cost of education. Recipients are selected by the Director of Student Work and Financial Assistance and may reapply each year, though they will not receive preferential treatment in subsequent years.
