James E. and Joseph T. Connelly Scholarship

The James E. and Joseph T. Connelly Scholarship is awarded to political science majors at Eastern Illinois University who demonstrate academic excellence and community engagement. Recipients must be either juniors or second-semester sophomores with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a 3.0 GPA in three or more political science courses. The scholarship requires demonstrated community or university service and a 300-500 word essay illustrating a 'social conscience approach' to a governmental problem. This award is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the Fall semester, supporting students who show commitment to civic engagement and political science studies.
