About this opportunity
The James Ramage Wright Supplementary Scholarship is a postgraduate research scholarship valued at up to $35,000 to support postgraduate research students in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney who are researching animal husbandry and animal production. The scholarship provides $10,000 per annum for up to 1.75 years for Masters by Research, or up to 3.5 years for PhD, subject to satisfactory academic performance. This scholarship was established through a gift from Mr and Mrs George Wright in 1942 in memory of their son, James Ramage Wright, who was a pastoralist and died in 1942 on active service in Syria during the Second World War. The scholarship aims to accelerate investigation into and advance knowledge of the problems of animal production. Applicants must hold a current primary scholarship funded by the University or by an external party and be conducting research in animal husbandry and animal production within the areas of veterinary science or animal production. Selection is based on academic merit, area of study, and research proposal.
