James Strong - Nomura Scholarship for Business

Established in 2013 by a generous donation from Nomura Australia Limited, the James Strong - Nomura Scholarship for Business supports emerging leaders with a demonstrated interest in business and contributing to their community. This undergraduate scholarship provides financial support to high-achieving domestic students commencing undergraduate business degrees at the University of Sydney Business School. The scholarship is valued at $9,000 per annum and is tenable for up to three years, with the possibility of an additional year for completion of the Bachelor of Advanced Studies or where the Bachelor of Commerce is combined with the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. Recipients are selected based on academic merit, demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement, and an interest in Business. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must enrol in 24 credit points each semester and maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 75. Recipients are also required to submit a 200-word annual statement summarising their involvement and impact in leadership and community spaces.
