About this opportunity
This scholarship was established in 2018 with a generous donation from Jan Heine towards furthering her lifelong work in environment and earth sciences. The scholarship supports postgraduate students at the PhD and Master's level in their research in biodiversity and restoration ecology. This scholarship is open to students who are enrolled or intending to enrol in any PhD or Master's degree programme in the Faculty of Science at Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be undertaking research in any aspect of biodiversity and restoration ecology, including the use of novel technologies - for example, management of biodiversity incorporating ecology, geomorphology, and Geographic Information Science (GIS); or targeting pests and improving efficiency through robotics, poisons, and traps. Preference is given to students in the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences. Recipients are selected based on the merit of their application and research project.
