About this opportunity

The Jan and Tom Montiegel Scholarship is an academic merit scholarship given to students with demonstrated academic excellence who are enrolled full-time in a major within the College of Letters & Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. New incoming first-year students who complete the New Directions application between October and December of their senior year of high school will be considered for both New Directions and the Montiegel scholarship. Continuing Letters & Science students who have an up-to-date Panther Scholarship Portal General Application and the College of Letters & Science Scholarships and Awards Application will be considered typically in spring each year. No additional or separate application is required for currently enrolled UWM students. For both incoming first-year and continuing students, eligible students will have a GPA of 3.7 or higher and a record of academic achievement. Awards given in spring are for the following school year so students graduating that same spring or summer are not eligible.
