Jane Ferguson Scholarships - VUW

Founded by Jane Ferguson who in 1941 bequeathed a portion of her residuary estate to Victoria University of Wellington to be held in trust for the purpose of providing scholarships out of the income. This scholarship is designed to assist female orphans of academic merit to continue their studies when their financial or other circumstances would prevent them from doing so. The scholarship is open to any female student who is an orphan by reason of death of both or one of her parents and who demonstrates outstanding academic ability and strong moral character. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens. The scholarship shall be tenable for one or more years as the Board shall determine, and in some cases may be extended for a further year or more.
