Janet O'Connor Postgraduate Scholarship

Established in 2015, the Janet O'Connor Postgraduate Scholarship has been bequeathed to the University of Sydney by Janet O'Connor to assist female students to further their study of writing or related topics. This scholarship supports outstanding female students studying the Master of English Studies or Master of Creative Writing at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement prior to commencing the Master programs, with no separate application required. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. Full-time recipients receive $10,000 per annum for up to three semesters, while part-time recipients receive $5,000 per annum for up to six semesters, with payments made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
