About this opportunity
The Janine Gonzalez Scholarship for an MCAT Preparatory Course was developed to assist pre-medical students with the financial burden of preparing for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) required to apply to accredited U.S. Medical Schools. This scholarship is designed specifically for students committed to pursuing a career in medicine and dedicated to serving Latino and underserved communities. Personal qualities, financial need, academic/extracurricular achievement and timeline for taking the MCAT will be considered in the selection process. The scholarship is available to pre-medical students who are dues-paying members of LMSA and residents within the LMSA Western region, which includes Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Nevada. Applicants should demonstrate a desire to advance the state of healthcare and education in Latino and underserved communities through leadership in extracurricular activities and/or membership in civic organizations.
