About this opportunity

The Janine Gonzalez Scholarship for an MCAT Preparatory Course was developed to assist pre-medical students with the financial burden of preparing for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) required to apply to accredited U.S. Medical Schools. This scholarship is offered by LMSA West (Latino Medical Student Association Western Region) and targets students committed to pursuing a career in medicine and dedicated to serving Latino and underserved communities. Eligible applicants must demonstrate a desire to advance healthcare and education in Latino and underserved communities through leadership in extracurricular activities and/or membership in civic organizations. Applicants should be planning to matriculate into Allopathic or Osteopathic Schools of Medicine in 2026 or 2027. Strong consideration is given to financial need, as well as the applicant's timeline for taking the MCAT and applying to medical school. The scholarship is available to residents within the LMSA Western region (Arizona, California, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Nevada) and requires applicants to be dues-paying pre-med members of LMSA. Students are eligible regardless of migratory status.
