About this opportunity
The Jean Heywood Scholarship was established in 2006 by Jean Heywood, nee Miller, a past pupil of Epsom Girls' Grammar School, who graduated with an MA in Mathematics from the University of New Zealand in 1942. The scholarship provides $10,000 in assistance for one year to encourage and support students from Epsom Girls' Grammar School to pursue undergraduate studies in Mathematics or Statistics at the University of Auckland.
This annual scholarship is intended to recognize academic promise and provide financial assistance to a graduate of Epsom Girls' Grammar School who is enrolling full-time in an undergraduate degree programme focusing on either Mathematics or Statistics. The scholarship honors the legacy of Jean Heywood and her commitment to mathematics education for young women.
The scholarship is offered annually with one award available per year. Applications typically open in mid-August and close in late September, with the scholarship tenure lasting one year. Applicants must be past pupils of Epsom Girls' Grammar School and must be enrolling in Mathematics or Statistics as part of their undergraduate degree programme.
