Jennie and Arthur Loo First in Family Scholarship

The Jennie and Arthur Loo First in Family Scholarship was established in 2020 and is funded by University of Auckland alumnus Arthur Loo and his wife Jennie. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students enrolling in the first year of a degree in Architectural Studies, Design, Engineering, Medical and Health Sciences or Science, who are the first member of their immediate family to attend university and who, because of financial hardship, may not otherwise be able to undertake a university degree. The Scholarship provides up to $8,000 per annum for up to four years to support students from underrepresented backgrounds in accessing higher education. One scholarship is offered every three to four years, making it a highly selective opportunity for eligible first-generation university students at the University of Auckland.
