About this opportunity
The Jillian Weaven Scholarship is designed to honour the legacy of Jillian Weaven, a Wiradjuri woman passionate about education and creating career pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The scholarship encourages and assists students in business or law-related disciplines to complete their studies at RMIT University. It provides financial support of up to $10,000 for full-time students or $5,000 for part-time students for one year. The scholarship may also offer matching with an appropriate mentor within RMIT, an opportunity to undertake an internship or WIL activity during the scholarship period for a minimum of 150 paid hours at RMIT, consideration for a HR Graduate position within the People team, and appropriate membership fees such as AHRI membership. The scholarship was established as a tribute to Jillian Weaven's outstanding contribution to First Nations people at RMIT, her role in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Committee, and her commitment to supporting the growth and development of women at RMIT in her role as Senior People Business Partner.
