About this opportunity
The Jimmy Don Owings First Responders Endowed Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to students enrolled at Tarrant County College who are pursuing careers in public safety and emergency services. The scholarship supports students working toward an associate degree or certificate of completion in criminal justice, firefighter/fire protection technology, emergency medical services, or paramedic programs. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and complete at least 4 hours of community service per award period. The scholarship can be renewed for the spring semester if requirements are met, including maintaining a minimum semester GPA of 2.5, completing at least 6 credit hours in the fall, and providing signed verification of community service. Established by the Owings Family, this scholarship recognizes students committed to serving their communities as first responders. Financial need is not a requirement for this award.
