About this opportunity
Named in honour of Jo-Anne Koch, the first Principal of ABC (Westmount) Charter Public School in Calgary, this scholarship recognizes the legacy of a tireless advocate for the rights and needs of gifted learners. As a parent of a gifted child and long-time educator in Alberta's publicly funded schools, Ms. Koch dedicated her career to supporting exceptional students. The scholarship is funded through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund and provides financial support to Alberta students pursuing specific degree programs. This award is intended to recognize academic achievement and support students enrolled full-time in the second or subsequent year of a Bachelor of Science program in Chemical Engineering, Nursing, or Social Work at a post-secondary institution in Alberta. Selection is based on academic performance in a full-time course load for the previous fall and winter terms.
