About this opportunity
The Joan Mattingley and Charles Cameron Travel Grant is offered annually to students majoring in Chemistry at the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences or to students at Te Kōkī - the New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington. The grant was established from the bequest of Dr Joan Mattingley, who graduated with a PhD in Biological Chemistry in 1977, and her husband Charles Cameron who had a lifelong interest in music. The award provides funds specifically for travel purposes, both domestic and overseas, to support students in their research and academic development. Up to two grants are offered annually, one for Chemistry and one for Music, with each grant worth up to $5,000 NZD (subject to funds available). Recipients are expected to write a letter of appreciation to the family of Joan Mattingley and Charles Cameron within a month of being notified.
