About this opportunity
The Jocelyn and Vic Walker Legacy Scholarship supports school leavers with demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to make a positive impact in the community. The scholarship provides financial assistance to encourage students who reside in the Sunshine Coast to undertake their undergraduate studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Established by Jocelyn Walker to honor her late husband Vic Walker, founder of Moby Vic's service stations, this scholarship replaces the previous Vic Walker Memorial Scholarship and enables all Sunshine Coast school leavers to be supported in their choice to attend UniSC. One scholarship is awarded every second year starting in 2023. The scholarship is paid in instalments of A$2,500 per semester for the normal duration of the program, providing A$5,000 per annum for up to 6 semesters for a 3-year program (maximum A$15,000) or up to 8 semesters for a 4 or 5-year program (maximum A$20,000). Recipients are selected based on leadership skills demonstrated through academic and extracurricular or community contribution, academic achievement, and financial need.
