Joe Walding Memorial Bursary

The Joe Walding Memorial Bursary is for candidates studying business courses at postgraduate or doctoral level and based in the Manawatu-Whanganui or Wellington region of New Zealand. The bursary was established in memory of the late Honourable J A Walding, Member of Parliament for Palmerston North, Minister of Overseas Trade and New Zealand High Commissioner in London. The bursary provides $5,000 NZD for one year's duration to support postgraduate or doctoral business students who normally reside in the Manawatu, Whanganui, or Wellington region. Multiple awards are available annually. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents undertaking research focussing on a New Zealand topic within Massey Business School. Selection considers both academic achievements and financial need. Applications are accepted from 31 January 2026 to 30 April 2026.
