John A Weir Memorial Scholarships

The John A Weir Memorial Scholarships are offered annually to a student entering the first year in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. In addition to a satisfactory academic record, the applicant should have exhibited strong evidence of leadership, and an involvement in community or religious activities or athletic endeavours or debating or fine arts. A written essay on the life and works of John A. Weir will be required with each application. This scholarship is funded through endowed funds by former students of the late John A Weir, who was the former Dean of the Faculty of Law.
