John and Carol MacLeod Externship Award

The John and Carol MacLeod Externship Award is an annual veterinary medicine award established to support third-year students pursuing advanced training in small ruminant care. This award will be given annually to a third-year student in veterinary medicine who demonstrates interest in the husbandry and well-being of domestic small ruminants (sheep, goats, camelids, Cervidae) and who intends to engage in an external fourth-year elective outside of Atlantic Canada that has a small ruminant emphasis. The award provides financial support to help students pursue specialized training opportunities in small ruminant veterinary medicine at external institutions beyond Atlantic Canada.
