About This Opportunity
The John and Eileen Jorgens Scholarships are awarded annually to Alberta residents with superior academic achievement enrolled in a degree program in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta. Recipients will be selected on the basis of leadership qualities as demonstrated by community involvement and extracurricular activities and academic standing. Preference will be given to applicants from an Alberta farming or ranching family where the primary income of the family is derived from the farm/ranch and/or who are entering the third or fourth year of specific programs including Agricultural Economics, Agricultural/Food Business Management, Nutrition and Food Sciences, Environmental Economics, Environmental and Conservation Sciences. Students from urban centres are also encouraged to apply. The scholarship is funded through an endowment by Mr. and Mrs. John and Eileen Jorgens.
