John and Freda Halas Memorial Scholarship

The John and Freda Halas Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to Alberta residents with superior academic achievement entering the second, third, or fourth year of a degree program in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences. Eligible majors include Agriculture, Agricultural/Food Business Management, Forestry, Forest Business Management, or Animal Health. Recipients are selected based on academic standing and financial need. Preference is given to applicants from Alberta farming or ranching families where the primary income is derived from the farm or ranch, though students from urban centres are also encouraged to apply. This endowed scholarship honors the memory of John and Freda Halas.
